The pro­duc­tion pro­to­type, chas­sis num­ber 0000, was the only Tuck­er with rub­ber-disc sus­pen­sion derived from the Miller race­ing cars, a 9.65 liter flat six, and direct torque con­vert­er dri­ve­with no reverse gear. This gave rise to the false rumor that lat­er Tuck­ers couldn not reverse. The big six was lat­er replaced with Tucker’s stan­dard 5.5 liter air­cooled six. (Alex Tremulis)
