trenches, E.T. Reed draws a mature-looking WSC leading the generals: “And it won’t be long,
we expect, before things begin to hum, under the Churchill touch.” Rarely seen since publication,
this was published in “The Bystander” rather than Reed’s usual venue, “Punch.”
